Idea to IPO
Idea to IPO is an experiential, team-based entrepreneurship course that took place over 12 weeks teaching faculty researchers, clinicians, residents, PhD, Masters and medical students how to move an idea from the lab/clinic/digital world to commercialization. Industry experts and investors discussed life science/healthcare entrepreneurship subjects applicable to therapeutics, devices, diagnostics, tools and digital health ventures. Participants joined teams to pursue an idea, create a detailed business plan and pitch an investor panel.
Lean LaunchPad for Life Science/Healthcare
The UCSF Entrepreneurship Center provided the life science/healthcare version of Lean LaunchPad in partnership with Berkeley and Stanford in the National Science Foundation’s I-Corps program. This groundbreaking entrepreneurship course enabled students to test their venture idea with the marketplace even before developing a product. Over 750 teams throughout the United States have participated in a Lean LaunchPad program with excellent results. In a short period measured in weeks, they were able to assess if their entrepreneurial idea can become a successful venture by testing their hypotheses in the outside world.
