David Johnson, Lecturer-in-Law, Stanford Law School. Negotiation is part of entrepreneurial life, whether it is with your co-founders, investors, new hires, partners or customers. Learn the central concepts and language of negotiation, understand how information exchange, the perception of information and certain psychological norms can affect outcomes. Practice tactics firsthand in a simulated negotiation with your classmates. Dave is a veteran Silicon Valley lawyer, practitioner and teacher of negotiation at Stanford and has done stints as general counsel in biotech, drug discovery and healthcare companies. Todd Esker, Intellectual Property Partner at Morgan Lewis and Karin Immergluck, Director of the Office of Technology Management at UCSF, will address the IP issues that have been on your mind:  How do I know when I should file IP?  What can I say to the outside world about my invention? Is it OK to talk to investors about my technology?  When should I make a disclosure to the University?  How does Technology Management work at UCSF?  How much protection can I get from a provisional patent?
